A Place for Families to Grow – Welcome to Creative Kids Club

Tucked inside Let’s Play Indoor Playground, Creative Kids Club was created with a simple idea in mind — that the early years should be joyful, curious, and supported not just for children, but for the whole family.

If you’ve ever watched a toddler pour sand from one container to another for ten minutes straight, you’ll know something important about young children: they learn through doing. Through touching, experimenting, moving their bodies, and exploring the world around them. What might look like simple play is actually building the foundations for language, coordination, problem solving and confidence.

At Creative Kids Club, we try to create as many of these moments as possible.

The first few years of parenting can feel magical and exhausting all at once. Our goal is to create a space where families feel they belong. A place where children can explore, learn and play, while parents find connection, reassurance, and community with others walking the same path.

We’re also excited to share that Kirstie Watson has recently joined the team as Venue & Educational Program Manager for Let’s Play, and lead educator for Creative Kids Club. Many Canberra families will already know Kirstie from her 10 years as the owner of Gymbaroo (and six years prior working as Class Leader), where she supported thousands of local families through the early stages of childhood development.

Kirstie brings an incredible depth of knowledge about how young children learn. She often reminds parents that movement builds the brain, that messy play strengthens the tiny muscles needed for writing later on, and that the most powerful learning often happens when children are simply given time and space to explore.

Together, we’re building Creative Kids Club to be more than a timetable of classes. It’s a place where children can get messy, move their bodies, explore new ideas and build confidence through play. Across the week, families can join sessions including messy play, music and movement, preschool readiness, baby development classes and social sessions for parents — all thoughtfully designed to support children from their earliest months through to the preschool years.

One of the newest additions we’re especially excited about is Baby Bunnies, a calm and nurturing session created just for babies and their parents. In these gentle classes we focus on early development, connection, sensory experiences and creating space for parents to meet others who are navigating those precious (and sometimes sleepless) early months.

But supporting children also means supporting the adults raising them. Over the coming months we’ll be introducing monthly parent education sessions, bringing together guest speakers, practical Q&A conversations and opportunities for parents to connect with one another. From understanding child development to navigating behaviour or simply sharing the realities of life with young children, these sessions are designed to help families feel informed, confident and supported.

In many ways, we hope Creative Kids Club becomes a modern version of the village many families wish they had. If you’ve been curious about Creative Kids Club, our Discovery Pass is a wonderful way to explore what we offer and try a few different classes to find the best fit for your child and your family.

We’re so grateful to the growing community of families who are part of Creative Kids Club, and we look forward to welcoming many more little learners (and their grown-ups) through our doors.

This is a paid feature in partnership with Creative Kids Club. We love sharing and supporting businesses that align with our community — if you’d like to feature your business with The Mama Collective, we’d love to hear from you.
